Founder & Designer, Age 11
Too old for the kids’ aisle,
too early for streetwear
I spent a few years stuck in a size that didn’t exist. The kids’ section stopped fitting how I felt, but everything built for streetwear had aged up with the people who grew up wearing it — heavier fabrics, older references, prices for someone with a job. There wasn’t a section for what I was becoming, just a gap between two racks that weren’t built for me.
Formerly started as a way to name that gap. Not kids’. Not menswear. Formerly — as in, formerly a kid, currently figuring it out.

Clean—Comfortable—Sharp
“I didn’t want to build a brand that told people who to be. I wanted one that admitted nobody’s finished becoming anyone just yet.”
